Multi-day tours
Captivating high alpine touring week in the quiet part of the Ötztal Alps between Vent and Obergurgl with ascents of interesting peaks that are not included in the usual round tours.
Monday:
After meeting at 8.00 am at the mountain guides office in Vent – Haus Hubertus – we ascend via the path to Ramoljoch 3,186 m (4 hrs.). From here we go over the rocky ridge, over ice and snow to the Hinteren Spiegelkogel 3,426 m (1 ½ hrs). Then we climb back to Ramoljoch and down to the Ramol house 3,006 m (2 hrs).
Tuesday:
The day begins with a descent to the Gurgler glacier, we cross the glacier tongue at around 2,500 m and on the other side of the valley ascend to the Hochwilde Haus 2,866 m (2 hrs.). Following a break we carry on over the Gurgler glacier to the Hohen Wilde 3,461 m, where we climb up the rocky north peak (3 ½ hrs). Subsequently returning to the Ramol house (4hrs).
Wednesday:
With some up and down we go under the Firmisanschneide and either we enter the ridge following the Firmisanjoch and climb over it or we go over the glacier beneath the summit and then only over the last part of the ridge to the summit of the Schalfkogel 3,540 m (3 hrs. each). The descent takes us over the ridge to the Schalfkogeljoch 3,375 m and down to the Schalf glacier and out below the hut at about 2,300 m (3 ½ hrs.). We then have to climb the last 200 m in altitude to the Martin Busch Hut 2,501 m (45 mins).
Thursday:
Today one of the highest and most beautiful peaks in the Ötztaler Alps is on the programme, the Hintere Schwärze 3,628 m. The path leads us up over the rugged Marzell glacier (5 hrs.), and down (3 hrs.).
Friday:
The pathless ascent leads us to the Sennkogel 3,400 m (3 ½ hrs), that carries the name of the glacier priest Franz Senn, and then along part of the ridge towards the Saykogel but shortly dropping back down via the Kreuz glacier and out through the Rofen valley to Vent (4 hrs.).
